Disney and Deaconship

"Hey mom, I'm homesick. Wanna go to Disney World?" That's all it take now a days, and I totally get it. Thus an impromptu family trip to the Dis with Casey! Grandma and Kaitlyn actually left Friday morning with the boys and Daddy and Mommy drove up after work. This was a first for us, and a little difficult for mommy to let go. I have to say they had a wonderful time at Magic Kingdom after picking up Uncle Casey from the Orlando airport. We met them there in time for some Thunder Mountain and Fire Works.

I got this adorable Pooh outfit for this trip to Disney and the adorableness never actually made it to the parks because it lived up to its name....
Our first stop was Wilderness Lodge for Mother's Day breakfast. That was the one thing Grandma had requested that she wanted to her day, and we thought this was a nice way to make it Disney special.

You can't beat the beauty and grandeur found inside the hotel. It really makes you feel like you are out west. I'm ready for a big road trip!

Our day at EPCOT had us immersed in the Flower and Garden Festival. One of our first stops was the sauna they called the Butterfly Tent. I have to say we had fun, and even watched a butterfly coming out from it's cocoon. Aunt Kaitlyn made some beautiful custom Mickey ears for the trip as well. She got compliments on them all day!
The famous picture from the trip that broke the internet for the day.

On our last trip to Disney Connor had gotten a Dusty tsum tsum and has wanted to get it signed by Dusty himself every since. We were able to make it happen and he was super happy! Dusty is Mickey's very own bear and is kind of a big deal.
I was so happy that the de Rose family was able to meet up for us for a little bit at the park. My family was so excited to finally meet their sweet little Hayden.
We were only in Orlando for about 24 hours before we had to turn around and head back home for Tim's big day. He was asked to become a Deacon at our church and it was their ordination Sunday.

He was able to introduce himself at church in front of the congregation and Pastor Thompson delivered a wonderful sermon focusing on 1 Timothy 3:1-7
Here is a trustworthy saying: Whoever aspires to be an overseer desires a noble task. Now the overseer is to be above reproach, faithful to his wife,temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him, and he must do so in a manner worthy of full[a] respect. (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God’s church?) He must not be a recent convert, or he may become conceited and fall under the same judgment as the devil. He must also have a good reputation with outsiders, so that he will not fall into disgrace and into the devil’s trap.

They did the actual ordination after church and it was a lovely representation of the body of Christ moving together. We had a table full of people who love Daddy very much and are so proud of him. Papa even came to support him. Daddy is such a wonderful example of Christ's love in our home and we are lucky that he is ours.

My people. I need more of them always.
